Celebrating 10 years of Ticketer!

Personalising public transportation

Our story

It all started in 2009, when John, our CEO, found that operators weren’t head over heels about their ticketing machines. John believed it was time to revolutionise ticketing, to use cloud technology to make things simple for the operator.

Now Ticketer is the UK’s largest ETM supplier outside London, with ticketing machines on buses across the UK, from Cornwall to the Hebrides. And it’s not just buses. In fact, there are Ticketer software and devices on every form of public transport, including trams, trains, hovercraft, and horse trams. Yes, horse trams.

Whatever the size of fleet, whatever the form of public transport, we’re by the side of operators, keeping their businesses moving forward through our innovative public transportation technology.

Our mission is to make public transport personal. Because, for operators, and passengers, it is. It’s getting someone to work without stress, or home in time for tea, and making it so easy they’ll always use public transport. We’d love you to get on board.

The Ticketer way

For the good of the industry

We’re committed, some might say obsessed, with making public transport better, for both operators and passengers. We’re continuously improving and innovating, so that as things change, like account based ticketing and frictionless travel, our operators are ready.

Products that are perfect for purpose

When we develop our technology, we have a saying: “perfect for purpose.” That means it’s innovative technology, but it works in the real world without you having to be a techie. It’s built to be reliable and easy to use for drivers and operators, because the most sophisticated tech should feel simple.

A new-tech company with old-fashioned values

We’re future facing but we do things with a nod to the past. You’ll see it in the way we stick to our word, and do things for the right reason (even if that doesn’t put cash in our pocket), like including ongoing updates without extra charge.
