Exhibitor and Conference Presenter Ticketer Shortlisted for Transport Ticketing Award

28th January 2019

Ticketer is to exhibit at the Transport Ticketing Global event at the end of this month.  At the Conference, Managing Director John Clarfelt is presenting a talk on ‘Utilising technology to drive customer satisfaction’ and the company has been shortlisted for the Ticketing Technology of the Year Award at the same event.

Ticketer is exhibiting at the Transport Ticketing exhibition and conference, which brings together representatives from the intelligent ticketing, passenger information and smart cities industries.  John Clarfelt’s conference talk will cover the numerous opportunities available to assist passengers and how technology can be used to increase customer satisfaction.

The main topic on Ticketer’s stand, A41, is expected to be Tap On/Tap Off for contactless transactions, as Clarfelt explains:  “We are always looking for ways to make life easier for operators.  The latest innovation is Tap On/Tap Off, which will enable operators to offer the most convenient and flexible fares for passengers.”

Ticketer’s Tap On/Tap Off technology facilitates variable and distance-based charging, so that passengers always automatically pay the best fare.  Tap On/Tap Off also speeds up boarding as passengers no longer need to request a ticket and operators have access to a wealth of data on passenger journeys for more accurate scheduling and fare charging.  To support this new mode of ticketing, Ticketer has developed a second reader to facilitate Tap On/Tap Off on vehicles with a second set of doors.

Known for its constant innovating, Ticketer is also proud to be shortlisted for The Ticketing Technology of the Year Award, which recognises new product innovation designed to revolutionise ticketing.  Ticketer has been shortlisted for its new generation ETMs, in particular for the way in which they have transformed mTicketing.  Ticketer enables operators to use the data from mTickets in a way that has not been possible before, while at the same time reducing fraud.  Operators using Ticketer ETMs can also print and read QR codes, giving paper tickets the same information and security benefits as with other smart media.
